Visit the downtown and the Roman Amphitheater of ancient Durrachium. Stand in the Roman Amphitheatre: Head to the city center to visit the massive 2nd-century Durrës Amphitheatre. It once held over 15,000 spectators and contains rare early Christian wall mosaics hidden in its chapels.
The Archaeological Museum of Durres will be one of the highlights of this day-trip as it presents a really fine collection of objects related to the history of Durres.
See the Venetian Tower & Ancient Walls: Walk past the 15th-century Venetian Tower of Durres, which served as a crucial stronghold along the Byzantine-era city fortifications. Stroll the Vollga Promenade: Wind down your day at the Promenade Park (Shetitorja “Vollga”). Take a peaceful seaside walk, look out over the commercial harbor, and snap photos from the modern Sfinksi structural viewing steps.
