Departure fom Tirana 08,00. After aproximately 1 hour drive we will make our first stop in the city of Kruja. Visit the castle in Kruja including the National Historical Museum and the Ethnografic museum. Then we will visit the bazaar, with authentic local products.
The Kruja Bazaar is famous for being one of the oldest in Albania. The construction of the beautiful and fascinating marketplace of Krujë dates back over 400 years, and was the starting point of free trade among the city’s most established merchants. It is in this particular bazaar that traders first began to officially exchange various kinds of goods with one another. Conveniently located on the main road leading to the Castle of Kruja, the space forms part of the museum while also serving its traditional commercial purpose.
After Kruja we will drive for 1 hour towards Shkoder and upon arriving our first stop will be Rozafa castle. From its ancient Illyrian walls and the medieval ruins of the Balshaj dinasty, to the Towers of the Bushatllinj, Rozafa Castle is a monumental testament of an everlasting fortress.
Shkodra is the cradle of the most important Albanian poets, like Migjeni, painters like Kol Idromeno and Edi Hila, and photographers, the Marubi Family. Shkodra houses the haunting Marubi National Photography Museum, which displays the first photo taken in Albania, and the Venice Art Mask Factory, where a local master produces the same intricate masks used in the Venice carnivals and Las Vegas shows
Time for Lunch in Shiroke village by the lake. Drive back to Tirana.
